“Will I Still Be in Control in Hypnosis?”
To understand why hypnosis puts you more in control rather than less, you need to understand two core things that it achieves:
1) Hypnosis is the bypassing of the the critical factor of the conscious mind. This means that the usual limiting thinking mind can relax. Rest assured, plenty of people already know how to do this to you: journalists, politicians, advertisers – to name a few. The problem lies not in your ability to bypass your unconscious mind, but in those thoughts that have become habitual and locked in only way of seeing things, feeling about things – and ultimately a sense of being stuck in a problem. In a hypnotherapy context, you decide on your own terms what limitations you choose to bypass;
2) The establishment of selective thinking. Once your conscious mind is bypassed, you will still be consciously aware, but in an altered state. Then you are able to accept new positive suggestions for how you want to be. These are the seeds that a hypnotist plants. Over time, they grow into powerful new behaviours and increased focus and confidence.
Imagine your biggest problem didn’t exist anymore…
…that you were in control of the actions that would help you achieve your most important goal…
Hypnosis helps you take charge of your feelings and emotions, which changes your thinking. This, in turn, allows you to develop new behaviours spontaneously – from the inside.
How much more control could you want?
As you watch this short video, you might think about how having more control would be valuable for you. Not the kind of “control freak” control that is stressful, but a heartfelt sense of self-assuredness, hope and calm, which lead to a real sense that you can change your life and keep on improving it – even in the most stubborn hard-to-change area you can think of.
